Welcome to my blog and thank you for reading! This is the very first story I am posting as it is one of my oldest memories of disturbing experiences.
It was a long time ago, and this was probably the first creepy thing that happened to me. Or, at least, the earliest one I can remember.
I'll preface this with my current age, 31. I was about 7 years old at the time this happened and my mom had been going through a divorce. I woke up on the couch but I wasn't me. It felt like I didn't have control and I remember screaming. My mom was trying not to panic and was anointing me with oil as she prayed. We aren't Catholic, I was raised Christian, but anointing oil is something we use in certain instances.
I don't know what ever happened that night. I know I was in bed and my mother said she found me walking around and acting strangely. I just know I woke up screaming at her as she prayed over me.
Generally, I would say this was demonic in origin but as I'd given my life to God at the age of 4, I don't think that was the case in this instance. It can probably be attributed to sleepwalking or night terrors. All I can say is that I'm glad it's never happened again.

A note before you begin reading
This blog will be a place where I write out all of the creepy, paranormal, or otherwise unexplained stories that have ever happened to me that I remember. They may be paranormal in origin or they may have been encounters with other humans. In any case, I am writing them out for posterity.
Many of these stories were witnessed by one or more persons, aside from myself. I am the kind of person that usually does not talk about strange or creepy things I've seen. However, many of these stories are stories I've been wanting to talk about for a while.
I feel like my experiences can help others. Or, in my case sometimes, give someone a good creep. Whatever the reason you're reading this, keep in mind that every story is true.
Now I realize that some of these stories that do not feature other people may have natural, normal explanations. However, a few of them do not. In any case, I try my best to think critically and approach each one as having a rational explanation. When I cannot find one, I then label it as paranormal.
